Dr. Scott and
Amy Noorda

Scott Noorda, DO, studied Neuroscience at Brigham Young University before attending medical school at Midwestern University in Chicago.  He is board-certified in Family Medicine. While working for several years with patients with late-stage Alzheimer’s and advanced chronic conditions, Dr. Noorda recognized the immense need for preventive care and obtained additional training in Functional Medicine, nutrition, and epigenetics.

Amy Noorda worked in publishing as a Creative Director and is the magic behind making everything look and sound good. An avid researcher (and superhuman speed reader), she reads and writes extensively on natural health, preventive medicine, and nutrition.

Scott and Amy have five children. They have lived all over the country and enjoy hiking, traveling, and exploring as a family. They love cooking and eating food from different cultures and inviting friends over for impromptu dinners.

This book is life-changing! The most transformative sections for me so far have been nutrition and stress. The stress section especially helped me recognize a stressor in my life that was really negative but totally fixable. As a result of working to let go of that stressor, our home has been happier.

Aside from being inspirational and effective, this book is also was very well organized. I appreciated the flow of the sections, the reliable real-life examples, the worksheets and probing questions, etc. I also liked the balance of facts/science with stories/examples. I love how much this book is a celebration of food! While it informs of some of the problems associated with much food in the industry, the exciting proposition of creating fun traditions and habits as a couple and family - including really savoring amazing real food for its own sake and as a means of strengthening relationships - outweigh the perceived loss of reducing or eliminating foods that are not healthful from our diets. The focus is on the benefits of healthy choices and the accompanying research.
